RYA COACHING WEEKEND

ONE DESIGN KEELBOAT RACING

Saturday 8 May to Sunday 9 May 2010

Coach: Mike Hart (Flying 15 World Champion 2007)

The objective of this coaching weekend is for keelboat sailors to improve their racing skills under the guidance

The emphasis will be on boat handling, tactical situations and getting off the start line well.

It is the intention to use the Etchells fleet for on-the-water training.

Programme (approximate):

Saturday 8 May (Low Water 14:17, 2.8m)

10:00 Shorebased theory and exercises

12:00 Sandwiches

12:30 Coaching on the water

16.30 Debriefing ashore

Sunday 9 May (Low Water 15.20, 2.5m)

10:00 Shorebased theory and exercises

12:30 Sandwiches

13:00 Coaching on the water

17:00 Debriefing ashore

There will be a contingency programme if we have to cancel any part of the sailing activities due to poor weather conditions.
